The August Roundup
How is summer almost over?? 2018 is seriously going by faster than ever!! SO many big changes are happening in my life right now & it makes me so happy to be able to share them with the #melisfam! Here's a quick recap of everything that went down this month (hint: it's mostly wedding-related!!):
Wedding Countdown
Harry & I are getting married in 37 DAYS OMG!! All of the details are finally coming together & I'm just so excited to be marrying my best friend! As stressful as planning a wedding can be sometimes, it's so amazing knowing I get to spend the rest of my life with the person I can't live without!! Relationships aren't always perfect, but what I have realized over the past few weeks is that being a partner is making the other feel strong when they’re feeling low, being patient with each other, giving unconditional love and acceptance, and genuinely being stronger & better together.
Wedding Hair + Make Up
This month has been filled with back-to-back appointments in LA & South Florida!! Between the venue, the florist & the baker we've got our hands full! What do you love most about weddings??! It’s hard to say what I’m most excited about because I love the whole planning process so much!! This photo is from my wedding trial - my amazing friends Ramsay & Diane made me feel like a real bride & I loved the hair & makeup more than words! (I think Brady likes it too!!)
Self Love
Did you know the most important opinion about you is your own?!? Throughout all of the wedding planning, I've been careful not to get caught up in the idea that I HAVE TO lose any weight or change anything about myself for the most important day of my life! Whenever I’m feeling down, insecure or worrying too much about what other people think about me I write down 3 things that I love about myself and read them out loud a few times!! The most important conversation you will have today is the one with yourself so make it loving and uplifting!!
Bridal Shower
I can't believe my Bridal Shower is over already!! I had the most amazing weekend! Being surrounded by so many people I love and celebrating the upcoming wedding brought so many tears, smiles and laughs!! I am so thankful to all of my friends and family that made me feel so loved and want to send the biggest thank you to my mom & sister who went above and beyond to make the day so special!!! We were able to send all of the guests home with succulents personalized with their name on the jar & I'm absolutely obsessed!!
& the biggest news of all...
We are leaving Los Angeles and moving back to South Florida!! This has been such a crazy time in my life and I’m so happy to finally be able to share with you this big news!! Last month Harry and I made the decision to relocate back to Florida together to start the next chapter of our lives. Leaving LA is so difficult but I am so happy to be going back home and am so excited!! Between planning a wedding, moving across the country, and work I have been feeling so stressed but I am just trying to focus on this amazing time in my life and be so appreciative of all of the incredible changes happening in my life! To all my amazing friends & family here in LA, life will never be the same without you and my life would never have been so full had I moved here and met you! I will always have a special place in my heart for my favorite city in the world!!!
